Hey all,

I have to go to Portugal (Lisbon) in July for work and I am wondering what the surf is like there? Im not heaps experienced at the moment, so beginner spots are what im looking for. Also im doing a tour through France from the North to the South. Im guessing there is no surf in the south, but what about the north??

Hi!

I am based in the Lisbon coast and its a great surfing coastline as there are plenty of spots to choose from and for all levels (playa grande, carcavelos). If you need more help feel free to e-mail me marcela_gago@hotmail.com. Will be happy to help.
Hope to see you soon

Marcela

Hi, only surfed at Guincho, nice beach, nice waves, but did get a bit big for a beginner like myself...also quite powerful when the tide was coming in.
Can also rent board/wetsuit.
Been to alot of different beaches in Portugal when i was with my Portuguese girlfriend and most looked good for beginners.

The people are really friendly also.

Good wine and weather

:?

Wrong way round. The best and most consistent spots are in the south of france (west facing coast obviously! )
You cant go too wrong with Biarritz and Hossegor 8)
