Hey everyone.

I'm planning on going to Tamarindo in Costa during june for a few weeks. This trip is entirely about surf. I have never really been on a surf trip so i have questions. Also im from Florida (rarely catch a nice swell)

During the month of june can i count on consistent surf? Will it definitley be THAT much better than florida? Size? Glass?

Also, isn't it their winter? Anyone who has been their know about the water temp.?

thanks guys.

I was in Tamarindo August time a couple of years ago. It is true that it is their rainy season (and winter as southern hemisphere) but still one of the hottest places I have been. Water temp is like a bath. You need to wear a rashie just to stop yourself getting sunburnt. We only had a day or two with rain and even then it was just a ten min downpour that evapourtaed in half an hour. Quite refreshing when it came.

Waves are lovely that time of year. We had a few flat days but you get that anywhere. Plus if it is flat in Tamarindo you can hop up or down the coast to a more exposed/bigger break that will probably be working.

One of my favourite places I have ever surfed is Costa Rica. I love it love it love it. You can;t compare to Florida. Just surfing in HOT water, perfect waves, friendly locals and a rainforest in the backdrop!!! Awesome

PS - if you get a flat day then head up to the rainforest and go and do the zip-line canopy tour. Just unreal!!!
