Going to San Juan Peurto Rico

I live in Colorado.. my brother live in Ca. Huntington Beach...
im comfortable in the ocean... I can get into the line up, but still figuring out how to drop in.. almost had it last time in HB, anyway, my question is... how is PR for beginners? Is there anyone on this forum that is from PR San Juan? Can i rent a board there?? Im actually going to PR for a seminar for work, so Ill be in SJ, the whole time.. any good places to go near or in SJ??

I;m new to surfing but i might go to puerto rico this summer (i'm a sick sponger). I've read that most of the big nice swells are on the North/NW part of the island. You can prob find one near SJ though. Its known as the Hawaii of the East Coast, i dont suggest a really realy begginer surfs thier, only experienced, but i've never been thier.
