I'm organising a week surfing holiday for my mates this summer ,and was hoping to go to Ruda holiday park to camp, and surf at Croyde bay, but then i read on their site that half of the group needs to be 17 or over, and we are all 16... does anyone know of a cheap campsite that will take us, that is really close to a beach, as we won't be able to drive, we need to just walk straight onto it. also some of us will need to hire boards and wetsuits, so the place needs to be near a hire shop. thanks!!!

Hylo Kylie...sut mae?
If u go down to Sennen Cove....one of the best places 2 catch some waves...just camp out in the dunes or the fields nearby....I've done it loads of time without any problems..used 2 live down in Summercourt (nr Newquay) b4 I moved 2 boring old Derby!
U can wash in the surf or use the showers on the beach at Sennen...can't really remember if they have a hire shop as I had my own gear.....
OK...so theres no power for hairdryers....use the sun!
Anyway...hope u find somewhere...I'll be down that way last week of July....
PS In case the opening line wasn't a clue...yeah I'm Welsh too..from N. Wales.

Went to surf paradise last year. The campsite was stupidly overcrowded, it was in the middle of the holiday season, but it did overlook the beach. Also it had no facilities to speak of. If you look around Woolacombe there are other cheaper campsites although many do not like under 18s and can be pricey. Good surf there at high tide.
On the Sennen subject it is a pretty good beach to surf at (low tide) i'm heading back there in a couple of weeks. Look around and you'll find some cheap campsites. There are showers on the beach, a surf shop and somewhere you can hire boards (but only spongies last time i noticed).

Here is the deal. I only have two days at the coast. I ve seen some sick video of bk surf but don't know were to wet my gills for the day. I hate crowds and love juciey waves. I am ready to camp. I was thinking about croyde but sounds crowded. Help a fellow surfer out and I return the favor when you make it to California.

croyde gets way to crowded now, try saunton or woolacombe they get less crowded but you might have to walk down the beach a bit to avoid the crowds
