Who's been surfing in the Maldives?

Postby Jules » Thu Jan 05, 2006 8:46 am

I'm a complete beginner (previous experience is a couple of hours falling off in Rhossilli) and we're going to lohifushi island for two weeks shortly.

Their website says the surf is good and has a break on the beach. Are the waves too big to learn on? Should I take my board.....? (Christmas present Bic 7"9' mini mal)

I there is a beach break then take your board. If the waves are too big when you arrive you can guarantee that they will be small enough to surf on safely at some point during your stay.
Everywhere has small days - you'll kick yourself if you miss out, especially as you will be surfing in your boardies!
Have a good trip and dont forget to post your surf pictures when you get back

Been to Lohi's , Great spot , terrible current and the entry to the water is tricky, however it is season start now so it is fairly small. There is a charter leaves twice a day from lohi to the best spot , MUST try honkeys , amazing left.

Will be there again ,Jan 20th...
Peace
