Had some nice clean waves at Folly this weekend and was wondering how it was at Hunting Island.

Well, Sry this weekend I went to folly also so I can tell youu. One person told me though it was knee to chest high sunday. Whitch that is pretty good for HI.

On another note HI is expectied to go under renourishment within a month and will have 9 new jetties all over. Could that up the surf a bit?

Weekend surf

Postby prish1 » Mon Jan 23, 2006 5:04 pm

The jetties might improve it by building a man made point. That is how the pier is at Folly. Good wave Sat but wind blow crap on Sunday. Hopefully this weekend we will get some more clean waves.

How was the Washout

Postby prish1 » Tue Jan 24, 2006 4:51 pm

Yeah I usually surf at the pier with the other longboarders. Can't really float a shortboard plus longboarding is alot of fun. It was very crowded at the pier so I am sure the washout was packed also

Jax pier is usaully decent for longboarding, but VERY crowded on weekends. :? Some of the minor islands around north Florida have some nice swell too.

Hanna Park in Mayport and Fernandina Beach are a little less crowded areas of Jacksonville to surf in.
