Moving to Hawaii- location advice
Posted: Wed Jul 27, 2022 6:40 pmI am getting out of the Army next year and will be relocating. We had planned to move to California, but I am a dentist and need another year to be eligible for a license without retaking boards. I can get a Hawaii license now.
My sister lives on big island, but having visited Oahu, I think there are more work opportunities on Oahu. For those that currently live there or have a lot of experience in Hawaii, where would you recommend we search for work/housing?
I’d say I’m a lower intermediate surfer right now, and would love to live very close to consistently good surf. Would also like to be somewhere relatively safe.
On a side note, we will be bringing our golden retriever. Does anyone have travel experience to Hawaii with dogs? We’re both a little worried about flying him under the plane. I am aware of the rabies lab work and all of the stuff to get him there without quarantine.
