Hey,
I live in New York and I love the idea of surfing and I just started last summer but I don't have as many opprotunities to practice as others except when I'm down south in the summer. Basically I'm asking for tips to keep in shape for surfing while not being able to go practice and good spots in New York to learn to surf well. Your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
Erin

Hey , The best place for you and easy to get to is my home break at Rockaway Beach 90 St . On a real good day it'll be epic 8ft + during hurricane season , But this place is great for beginners as well in the summer time. Usually great for longboarders. It can get crowded in the summer but other fellow surfers are pretty cool if you don't snake them and give them right of way. I've been surfing here for years and yes i'm a spoiled hawaiin surfer but when you live here and it's this close , what the hell right?

Ever need to hook up give me a hollar , I like to go with alot of people any day of the week.

See you at the beach!

If you're on Long Island, check out Montauk. I know a lot of guys that surf out there.
