Surfing Waves

Hello,
I would consider myself as intermediate surfer, started 2 years ago with a few surf trips and approximately 40 days in the ocean. I am surfing boards around 8" or a bit longer, catching green waves and doing some first turns.
I plan a longer surf trip preferably in the month around april - june. Initially I wanted to go to Indo, for two reason I think I might postpone it. 1. Too crowded and 2. With my skill level it is not necessary to go there.
My priorities for planning the trip are: 1. not crowded, 2. constant good waves. So I have been thinking about going to central and south america instead.
Is this a good idea for what I am looking for, and has somebody other suggestions where else might be a good travel destination.

I'm pretty much in exactly the same boat haha. About same level with same time to spend somewhere nice.

I've just come back from Lombok and Canggu (there over Christmas/New Years). Been many times to Canggu but as expected its very crowded. Lombok was my first time and its great but still crowded at beginner spots (although quieter than Bali). Intermediate spots were a bit intimidating for a solo surfer (and bear in mind you have to take a boat out to the spots which make me feel less secure to be out there alone).

Interested to see the replies to this as I am only familiar with Indo.

All trip was cancelled with quarantine, who live near the beach so lucky!

That's a real shame, hopefully you'll make it when this all finally blows over.
