Nica in mid Oct-mid Dec

Traveling to Nicaragua oct 17th- dec 13th with my boyfriend. Any advice on places to stay/surf spots/transportation (do we need to rent a car to access surf spots?)- right now thinking of starting in Popoyo and then going from there. I would say we are more upper intermediate surfers looking for best conditions/a challenge. We are also open to going to CR/ other surrounding countries if you guys have advice on that too, thanks!!!!

Ive been to Popoyo, it's a nice area with easy access, yet walking distance between spots can be up to one hour. I was there in late January, with 1-2 ft swells, yet there were some mellow chest high waves. I hope you get better sweels so more spots work. It was only crowded in Popoyo inner as many other spots did not work. I stayed in an airbnb next Magnific Rock but I recommend the camp site near by. They have boards to rent and it's run by a super nice surfer dude.
