Morocco in May/June: surfcamps for son and non surfing mum

Postby antzy » Sun Mar 03, 2019 10:49 am

Hi,
Number 1 son finished his GCSEs in May and I want to give him a treat for the hard work (or at least some work). I would say he is intermediate level. I can't go due to work but his mum can.

His mum doesn't surf but does like yoga.

I am looking for recommendations as to surfcamps where they can stay in reasonable vomfort andf then perhaps have a weekend in a city at the end.

Any advice would be briliiant, Thanks

Hi. Taghazout area is pretty epic surf wise, and offers a variety of breaks for different levels. However, Morroccan surf season tends to be mainly December to March. This doesn't meant there won't be waves in May/June, but that it simply may be less consistent, or may require more travelling to find the right surf break. If your son is going on a surf camp then they should have the local knowledge of the best surf spots depending on swell conditions etc, and usually offer all the transportation to and from surf spots so should be taken care of in that way. Many areas with surf also have Yoga classes available, but you would need to check out specific areas in Morocco for details.

There is loads of surfcamps in Morocco.

Hope they have an amazing time, and well done on GCSEs, woohoo!
