Hi guys,

I went to Bali this summer, surfing got me stoked!! My pop up is good, can ride the wave pretty decent, also surfed my first green-wave that holiday.
This gave me the idea to go surf this october

Our friend group exists of 6 boys:
2 of my friends are on the same level as me, the other 2 are complete beginners.

First we wanted to surf in Hossegor (France), but I read the Quicksilver Pro is there in october. Maybe Hossegor is a little to much for us?

We are looking for a spot in France or Portugal. We want exciting waves but it must be safe for the complete beginners as well.
Do you guys think Hossegor is good? Or do you know some other good spots?

Hangloose,

Bob

Let's give you a few thoughts to,digest.
The Quiksilver Pro is in France at that time as the Atlantic swell season is beginning, hence more than the raw novice you all are will be overwhelmed.
Portugal and Spain are waking up too!

The truth is you are still in the nursery stages of surfing, take beginner friends with you asks the question are you all selfsufficient in saving yourselves in exciting surf?
If not are any of you capable of saving the other beginners.
Can you recognise a rip?
For your own sakes choose a beach with lifeguards maybe a surf school so they can take the responsibility of teaching and safety for you!
So much you don't know but a bad situation and panic could ruin your or your friend's life.
I'm not discouraging you but I've rescued so many people who took the same idea and it went badly bad!
