Well it's up and running the beyond the river surf program.
July my son is taking his partner my wife and I to Portugal/ Baleal area knee boards and the Bisect board are going.
Has my rehab, been done well enough ? Hmmmm we'll see.
10 days, cameras with will report progress.
Son knows the area pretty well so have high hopes.

Then warm water time at shoulder season in Sri Lanka Weligama area, browsing surf, places to stay!
Boys only trip to train grandson , long board and knee boards, getting close to monsoon winds so time of day surfs important.
Again, forum reports coming your way as it happens.

Baleal is beautiful. I've been there twice and the atmosphere is good. Waves are good but locals and kooks are aggressive. I can't wait to see the photos! I'm sure you won't have a problem with the locals when they see how well you surf.

Just remember that there are spots catered for any swell or wind direction! But July might not have any big waves.

As its -5C here, I'm getting very jealous. Weligama looks great, interesting area, should be fantastic (with or without waves). Looking it up, there are some very cheap places to stay, but I think the Cape Weligama resort is the one that you deserve.

Actually I have another spot in mind that fits my budget better, son and grandson coming. I like home stay small boutiqueish hotels with amenities tropic also require swimming pool for hot night dips. . Not and never been interested in glass menagerie, I go to,other countries for the experiences and some immersion in them not homogeneous sanitized rooms!

A little bit of snow; mostly very dry bright blue skies that are great at 2.15pm when it hits 13 degrees, then plummets to negative within a few hours.

I'm with your method of travel as well; I've stayed in resorts maybe twice in my life and bored to tears

I stayed at a airbnb called nineteen ocean view. They only open in the summer. The host is a solicitor and they do have a nice house with swimming pool. Her son loves surfing and has his own airbnb studio, I think it is called nineteen studio. Both in Peniche. The rate is pretty good and I would definitely recommend them.

Son got an apartment with Airbnb, butnestablished a good relationship,with owner so great mates rates . Very happy price and location with car!
