Hey guys,
I'm looking for a bit of advice. I am planning a trip for beginning of January to end of march of this year with my girlfriend and another couple.
We are all in our late twenties/early thirties but still like to party a bit and have fun. When we decided to do this we planned on going to Canggu, Bali as we've been a few times and love it. However, this falls right in rainy season. But if anyone knows the place that can give an idea of what we're sort of looking for.

We are looking for somewhere to spend the whole time. (maybe day trips but thats about it). I know it sounds like ill be asking for everything but im trying to find a place over these months with the following:

-Hot weather!
-good food
-good surf (intermediate) don't get to surf often so out of shape! beach break would be preferred.
-good nightlife. (not "rave" partying or anything... just good bars, good people and an active nightlife)
-as safe as possible! lol
-affordable (we arent looking to do hostels or anything. would like to rent a place with 2-3 bedrooms furnished with kitchen for somewhere around $1500-1600/month Canadian or 1100-1300 US) budget would be around 7,500 US per couple for the 3-4 months. so 15,000 total for the 4)
-would be nice if a vehicle wasn't needed. walking or moto bike preferred.

thats about it! ahaha
really just want a relaxing place with good people who like to have fun and catch some waves.
any input would be appreciated!!!

but we are hoping to surf almost everyday so something friendly and fun would be awesome.

please give me any input you guys have with any suggestions to go with them!
thanks,
Steve

I've never been there, but how 'bout Australia? Snapper rocks by day and whatever party you can find at night. It's Australia so I would imagine finding a party wouldn't be too difficult.

Snapper is probably the most crowded break in Australia ... but slightly north (Gold Coast) or south (Byron bay) will have everything you want. Except for your accomodation budget; you might struggle a little to find something for that amount. Unfortunately australia is pretty expensive: although totally worth it so great suggestion (I am not biased in any way...)

You could try Central America perhaps? It’s dry season and probably (pretty likely) cheaper than Australia. And if you are Canadian, cheaper and quicker to get to as well.

Canggu/Batu Bolong has about all those things your looking for, but it's as you mentioned right in rainy season. There can still be a lot of sunshine but the weather is unpredictable and can be very dangerous for surfing. This happened just a few days ago: https://coconuts.co/bali/news/belgian-d ... rf-lesson/

Not to mention the garbage and rancid water quality the West Coast (Canggu included) gets during the rainy season. Conditions on the cleaner east coast spots are good, but become extremely crowded (serangan nightmares!)

These guys are a bit tongue in cheek, but it's a fun read (it's got that British wit). Don't ask me what "waddling chavs" are, but I suspect it might be something like overflowing Starbuck's trash.

Looks like snapper, smells like snapper, 1000 would bes. can't be wrong SNAPPER!
Like DTC suggest north or south, going south of Byron you hit the great white and bull shark zone and smaller crowds than the Snapper human bait ball.
