New surfer- where to go in France?

I'm brand new to the world of surfing and I'm hoping to get as much practice in as I can before I go on holiday to France in August. I know the West coast is great for surf but that it can also get really crowded (not really what I want as a newbie! )

I was wondering if anyone knows of any quieter spots on the West coast which might be suited to a beginner?

Many thanks! :D

This looks lovely:

However the forecast has been looking quite big since I found that website, and the waves in the photos not particularly gentle, so although they do beginners lessons I'm not sure how suitable it is (that's a genuine 'not sure', I'm hoping someone will post more info as I'd love to go there myself).

August ist prime holiday time. France, Netherland, Germany etc etc pp all have school holiday.

Doesnt matter where you go beaches will be packed anyway.

I would go to Brittany / Crozon /South Finisterre.

The Location that you posted (Hossegor/Seignosse ) is not ideal for beginners, go more south (i.e. Cote Basque) or North. And in August it will be FULL everywhere. Really FULL. Including us ;-)
