July/Aug - Phillipines, Sri Lanka?

Hey,
My boyfriend's a teacher so we can only go for a big trip in the school holidays July/ Aug. We want to go somewhere warm, fairly cheap when you get there with some cool culture. We are both intermediate surfers wanting to avoid big crowds, if possible. We were thinking of the Philippines as we are both keen wakeboarders and there are some good cable parks there if the surf isn't great. But really open to suggestions for best uncrowded, intermediate waves at that time of year. Any advice would be amazing. Thanks!

I suspect the cable ski places won't be near the surf spots and the transport between the two sketchy they might not even be on the same island.

The surf camps there are distant from the culture and cater to frothing surfers first and foremost.
City culture is very American influenced, the religion is strongly catholic and that too influences culture..
A question I would ask is where are you traveling from as this could help us help you! :D

Thanks for the reply. We're not that bothered about the cable could be cool if it could tie in, we don't mind doing a bit of travelling, it's in Camarines Sur but we are primarily looking for a surf trip. We are based in the UK and would like to go outside of Europe somewhere with consistent surf in July/Aug that's not too crowded open to suggestions. We normally surf at our local reef and reckon we are fairly intermediate surfers.

If you look at your first post you will see Surf Patrol has kindly blued a link to the Philippines with surf info, check it out it will help.
There are world class waves there and not so crowded. Beyond that I don't know.
Check out the surf travel ads that pop up beside the forum and google them and see what they offer.
I suspect that may be the way to go rather than winging it. Mention you saw the ad here or with the sites surf spot map.
Good value all around.
:D
