Summer surfing in costa rica

Hey there! looking for some advice on general wave trends in the summer months in costa rica -
I surfed there in january in different locations along the pacific in the guanacaste province, waves were pretty consistent with usually 2 decent swells a day, always something to ride and usually nothing massive. I'll be back in july or august this summer (guiones, avellana, and playa grande) and am curious how the swells have been in past summers, I'm finding conflicting stats online. (looking for a genereal idea of size and consistency around that time of year - confirmation that I'm not going to get there and be bummed everyday with less than foot)
Thanks for taking the time to help me out! :)

In July and August you should have good waves in the North. Actually the whole pacific coast of Costa Rica should have good waves. The worst month for the Guiones, Avellanas and Playa Grande is November.

Just a tip. Remember that you'll be there during the rainy season and that means mosquitoes/Zika. If you want to try and avoid infection, I'd think about buying some mosquito netting before you go and stocking up on some Deet. That's what I'm doing for my trip to Central America this summer. Being exposed isn't the end of the world, but I'm going to try to avoid it.
