Hi there,

I'm on my way to Lombok during the Christmas time for about 6 days. Do you want to recommend best surf spots, some nice accommodation and also surf center where I can rent surfboards during my stay over there.

Thanks in advance :-)

Here's a couple of links about surfing Lombok Island in.

Where are you coming from and how experienced a surfer are you?
Lombok ranges from probably one of the world's best right hander to beginners waves. However the ime of year is absolutely pretty close to being all wrong!
It is the wet season and like most of the other Indonesian islands suffers from a deluge of streams disgorging rubbish and effluent into the sea.
The wind patterns are not as helpful for offshore wind grooming although mornings can be OK!

The deep southern ocean swells are not as prevalent.
A lot of the roads to isolated spots are even rougher than the dry season.

Tell me your experience and I'll advise further, there are no life guards or rescue services, so have your game up to speed in surf safety for yourself.

Hello hello,

I am a beginner-intermediate surfer and can do basic tricks and skills how to catch small 1-2 meters high waves. I have been surfing every now and then in the coast of Atlantic ocean such as Le Penon France. I didn't understand that it will be so rainy during the Christmas when I booked my trip. I will fly from Helsinki -> Jakarta -> Lombok on 23.12. I'm traveling from Lombok to the Komodo National park on 28.12. where I'm scuba diving for one week with dive operator called Scuba Junkie.

Thanks :-)

Correction. I think my comfort zone is surfing in 2-4 meter size easy waves.

I would suggest that you evaluation of waves needs to be a little different 3 to 4metres is a substantial wave and Indonesia they will be be moving harder and faster than you will have experienced >

Go by knee, waist, shoulder and head high believe me maybe Kuta Lombok and day trips out along the southern stretch as far as Gerupuk, there are surf schools with board hire at At Kuta L. Still not entirely optimum but you might get lucky. There is a multitude of accommodation there too. Way different from Finland
Komodo , dragons and diving there could exciting , probably a better adventure than the surf!
ENJOY :D
