Hello Everyone,
I would appreciate your pieces of advice and recommendations in planning my
trip to Hawaii to its best.
In December of this year I will be on my way to Honolulu. I am trying to find a place is close to a beach where you can find
beginners or to 6 foot high waves. Preferably avoiding cliffs.
I wont be having a car. Thats why I am looking for a close place to the waves, where I can just go to the beach rent a board and surf.
Is there such a spot on the entire Island?
Peace out

Hmmmmm , thinking cap on, beginner surfing up to six foot waves( ordinary measurement) or six foot waves ( Hawaiian measurement) no cliffs. Accommodation close to each , no car.
Short walk . Rent surf board , surf!! ,
Yep got it ........ Any one of the many hotels on the Waikikiki strip some right on the beach , some a slightly longer walk.
Really the only choice fitting your criteria, fairly expensive !
December is the North Shore prime surf month , big surf, lots of Pro surfers most accommodation from Turtle Bay and elsewhere booked heavily!
If you are as raw a beginner as you seem to be , only the beginners' break at Waikikiki will be suitable.
Six foot ordinary or Hawaiian will be well beyond you! But do yourself a favour, if the forecasts predict a big swell hitting get out to the north shore and watch pipeline or Waimea
Sure ain't Kansas Toto!

Question:
1) what size /shape board do you normally ride ( and by that I mean not just on vacation )
2) where have you surfed "6 foot" waves and what type of break ? Beach, Reef, Point , etc.
3) why will you been in Honolulu ? On business, to do a seminar , school ?

Waikiki is good but may or may not have much waves during December. If you don't mind knee high waves then definitely Waikiki
