Looking for best places to longboard Portugal in September

Hi all,

Looking to spend a couple of weeks in Portugal surfing and seeing the sites and would like some advice on what breaks are recommended and where to stay to be conveniently located. We are intermediate longboarders who like waves in the 2-6 ft range. We prefer reef breaks and have never surfed a point break so that would be cool as long as its not too heavy or crowded. So far we like the looks of Ericeira due to the variety of breaks in the area. Are their parts of Ericeira that are better than others ? Also wondering if it's worth hiring a surf guide or staying at a camp or are all of the breaks pretty obvious to find. Let me know your thoughts. We will have a car but being able to walk to the breaks would be nice too.

Hi!
I've been in Ericeira 3 times before. There are lot of beaches where you can walk to from the center. Only with a longboard it's a little bit heavier. But once I walked from Foz do Lizandro all the way to the Mercado with a 10 ft. longboard. Luckily we were with 2 people to carry
Anyway if you have a car: Ribeira das Ilhas is a nice spot, but very crowded. If you go a little bit to the south, there are less crowded spots, but I'm not sure if it's the kind your looking for. You can see a little description about the beaches at this website:
If you go more north than Ribeira, I guess it's less crowded, but I've never been their.
South of Ericeira you find São Julião. But that's just sand.

You'll find the normal beaches easily by yourself. But if you're looking for some guidance (to find the better spots), you can book one at a surf school. Or contact ride351.com I know they are very nice guys who wanted to show what Portugal has to offer.
