Hey,
I have a trip planned to Vietnam and Cambodia next January. I plan to surf in Viet Nam (like in Apocalypse Now only without being shot at)
One of my stops will be in Vung Tau. I heard about this place from A Vietnam war veteran who had been there back in the '60s. He said the waves were usually good, and according to what I have read it seems so.
Anyone ever surfed there? Hoping it will be good in January.

Try your luck at the Vung Tau beach club, you can rent boards there and have cocktails and if there is no surf just smell the napalm over a mai tai!
Further south there was Bien Hoa where most Australians surfed also known as China Beach.
Much nicer now that nobody is waging war.
BTW the war is known as " The American War" .
I've been back , what a cost to all concerned!
