Just now getting to bali to start my 3 week surf holiday. The forecast is looking rather massive and I was wondering if anybody has a good recommendation on where to go when the surf is 10 ft at 19 sec!!!!

I was at dessert point last year at more of a 7 to 8 ft swell and it was almost too big for it once it built fully. And from what I've heard about g land is 5 to 7 foot swell is about right as well.

Anyways 10 ft coming where should I check out?

Uluwatu's (and the other bukit waves) outside is working great then, but better bring a 8 foot Gun.

Bring your high speed skills for full wall down the line, Ulu's outside corner, but if you haven't got the skills HMMMMM I have had an all time mega Indo barrels there and the all time walk of humiliation, got pounded , gave me the yips missed the cave washed past the coral heads grave yard and had to take the white water ride along the cliffs almost to Padang Padang, a common big wave Ulu's occurrence , climbed the cliff with my board and then had to do the road walk back to the warungs. :? :?
Gland well again big waves, super speedy, which of the breaks can you handle,or will you opt for Tiger tracks?
If you handled serious Desert point then no worries, but if the swell is huge just come to the beaches further inside on the Bukit, your call when you are on the spot :!:
I know spots that work but I'm not telling on an open forum! Sorry nor will I PM it seek and ye shall find.

Making me a bit sick reading this... we've had several weeks of small and two weeks of flat... :(

... but ...

flat... flat... flat... wait for it... flat... wait for it... flat... then DOUBLE OVERHEAD AND OFFSHORE AT THE WEEKEND!

There's gonna be carnage. The whole of the Goldie is wave-starved and will be out there

For Uncle Jaffa's home break add wetsuit cold, two lumps in the throat cold!
Apologies to our Artic and northern surf nations but it is our turn for winter!

DBB I guess you are going to get the swell that hit Sydney. 3X overhead at Cronulla, then 3 days later it went flat again. So enjoy your moments

Nope, we completely missed that one up here!
While you lot down there were getting huge waves from the south, up here it just sailed past us and it was completely flat!

This is a new swell event coming from the NE so the whole of the E coast should be getting something! :D

Sweet. Thanks for info. Jaffa, I'm used to raw power, for I'm from oregon, however I Surfed ulus big last year on just a 9 ft swell and it was double overhead; I was able to ride it however I didn't want to surf it much bigger than that... anyways I might head to super sucks, for it looks like the swell would have to wrap quite a bit according to the map.
