Do I need a wetsuit East Coast Aussie (Byron) in May

Postby NevinJ » Sun Apr 24, 2016 1:35 am

Hi,

I am heading to Byron Bay beginning of May, spending a couple weeks there then travelling up the coast for another week and a half. I plan to surf as much as possible, will I need to bring my wetsuit? I am heading to Bali then Philippines subsequently to Aussie so I was hoping that I can get by with no wetsuit.

Thanks!

A quick google suggests current water temps of 25 degrees, so I'd say you'll be fine

You'll probably need a 2mm springsuit, or a neoprene rashie. The water temperature will be fine, but the air temp will be getting quite cool by then and you'll feel it in the water. You won't need a steamer.
You'll probably find me surfing, but if not, I'll probably be in the photography studio
