How to travel with your own board?

Hi surfers!

Recently I was facing a problem what's the easiest and most convenvient way to bring your own surfboard when travelling through different surf spots. Also, a way that doesn't hurt my wallet too much. It's ridiculous how much some airlines ask for sports equipment and some of them even have dimensions limits.

So after surfing the web I discovered ShipItWise. Apparently, they ship all sorts of stuff anywhere inside Europe, because they have conveniently converted all sorts of courier companies into their platform. So I asked for a quote and voilaa! They shipped my surfboard from doorstep to destination hotel and I didn't even need to pack it.

How do you usually take your board on a trip? Or do you prefer renting a board?

This sounds pretty interesting. I, and I think most serious folks that travel and surf, prefer to bring a board but that can be a disaster.

The real question is what is the pricing on it, it seems to save hastle of bringing the board from home to airport, airpot to accomodation.

Where does this service operate as well? It may have some limiatations
