Hey guys,
I'm new to the site and was hoping you could help me out. I'm planning on flying JetBlue to Costa Rica in June and I saw that they charge $50 per board. Now I feel that this isn't that bad, however, their website also said you could only carry "one surfboard per case." I was hoping someone could tell me why that is and if there is any way around that? I have a two-board board bag and was hoping i wouldn't have to buy two additional single board bags for my trip, it just seems like a pain. If anyone has had any experience flying with JetBlue I would really like to hear your thoughts.
Mahalo

Instead of a travel case I just used a bigger day bag and stuffed 2 surfboards in there, they didn't even check inside. If you bring a coffin they will check it. Hope that helps. Take off the fins, and put a yoga mat in between them

Airlines get super weirdo w/ the bag fees - so your smart to look into it. I agree with the the first reply - they ussually don't check the # of boards - but you could get skunked if they do. WaveTribe - is a boardbag manufacturer with lots of good up to date info on board bag fees and what to watch out for
