Surfing Waves

Hi Friends,

are there any surfers here who have ever been to Morocco? Planning on going there in March to get some practice, but as a goofy I'd love to know if there are any left-hander pointbreaks, apart from all the famous rights. Is spring really the time to avoid Agadir and head further north to get consistent swell? Any thoughts appreciated. Enjoy your day !

Hey, I have been a few times and am heading back in a couple of weeks.

Swell wise I have been in january december and early march. March begins to get warmer so the winds can start to get up more often.

The swell was fine in early march and plenty of waves around but I think its towards the end of the winter season so you could be unlucky if you thinking late march.

I have always found that even if taghazout area is very small an hour north or south can find you chest- head high waves.

Lefts are pretty thin on the ground. There are a few left reefs with good waves but i'm not sure there are any left points that i know of in the agadir region. There are 3 left reefs around taghazout but i have never seen any long running waves like the points. Nearly all swells come from the north and wrapping into the right hand points, for a left hand point to work well you would probably need swell from the south.

Bare in mind i have travelled on my own so stayed and guided by one of the surf camps, so there are probably lesser known/ secret lefts
I would not have been shown, although they are most likely more difficult/ treachorous
