Postby Dong Dong » Wed Dec 30, 2015 8:29 am

OH! Dong Dong , you have it so wrong wrong, December is not a good month the learn to surf in Bali it is the rainy season every cesspool of a stream enters the sea from the top of Mount Agung all the way down.
here is what Big H writes about this December
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=25188.
The Sanur side and Nusa Dua can have better waves then but since so much water as oceanic currents move through the Lombok Strait , it is dangerous.
One advantage less crowded so you won't be as much of a hazard in the water
There are still local guides available to get you to some where safe wave wise but have your health check and ways of keeping healthy. Consider too wet season means mosquito borne diseases , malaria Dengue, encephalitis to name a few. Talk to your doctor toensure what protections you need!
You might not any choice of the when but if you can choose the dry season April to October with the mid months being peak surf season, either end is shoulder so surf less crowds etc!
Good luck :D

Second for all of Uncle J's post! That being said, Kuta beach on up through Seminyak is a good beginner's break on smaller days....bigger days it can be deadly, and wet season it is filthy....

East coast is not a learning coast, but has the best waves this time of year.....the wind is offshore, but like Jaffa said, there are heavy currents, long paddle outs and on lower tides it's shallow reef from Green Ball to Serangan....Sanur has heavy localism due to heavy tourist bussing from Kuta during the rainy season which equals crowded conditions with a hostile vibe....I work in the Nusa Dua area and the usual bukit set are here during the rainy season going break to break checking conditions.....breaks that can only support 10 persons routinely have 5-10 showing up in groups together and just kills the sesh......

Answer to your question though would be Kuta and inside Padang2. There are other places that beginners go that they really shouldn't so I won't put them here.
