La Fonda / La Mission are descent beach breaks, and San Miguel is a fun point break. Both have camping and are in North Baja. San Miguel is next to the 3rd and last toll station. Please be carful, remember safety in numbers.

Santo Tomas is about 30 minutes or so south of Ensenada, or should I say the turnoff is. it is another 45 to 60 minute trek on a dirt road which is not well marked, however if you can find the lighthouse, you could score some nice surf (the local rancher will likely come collect a camping fee) These are some of my favs, there's also K38, Salsipuedes, Cuatro Casas, Shipwreck's and a few in between.

Have Fun (Hopefully my info's up to date, it's been a few years since I've surfed there)

I did a surf trip to Baja about 15 years ago, maybe even longer than that. Anyway, I was feeling adventurous and my buddy and I just took a dirt road way the hell out into the desert and the road went to the highest peak on Baja. There's an observatory up there and a campground, at least there was then. Anyway, we thought would be able to buy all our beer in Mexico for that trip so we didn't bring any. That was a mistake. It just so happened that at that time there was an election in Mexico and, unfortunately, none of the shops were open and the ones that were couldn't sell beer during the election. So, bring some backup beer just in case. The surf spot we went to was called Shipwrecks. It was completely flat our entire trip down there so I can't report on the break. It's beautiful though. Have fun.

"The local rancher will likely come collect a camping fee"
Just wanted to let people know that the esteemed Don Victor, who used to farm the lighthouse area was tragically murdered last year at his ranch. There also have recently been robberies and pistol whippings of campers in this area.
There is a helpful, but graphic website for travelers considering Mexico, called Borderland Beat http://www.borderlandbeat.com
it has up to date information about the narco violence which plagues all of Mexico, including road closures due to military or vigilante presence in an area. Safe travels to everyone!
