Hi guys!

I´m a bloody beginner and really want to get into surfing. I decided to look for a camp in January or February because I will be able to take three weeks off from work then. There are a lot of different countries and camps, which is great, but one thing was never clear to me - what kind of people I will be expecting there. I am a laid-back 28 years old guy from Germany, but I am really not looking for a party-camp. I just want to be somewhere with people that are eased at mind and a good vibe, but not with the need to neccessarily party all night. I made a really bad experience some years ago and I really want to avoid that.

So does anyone of you know a camp that suits my needs? My budget would be about 2K Euros and the location doesnt matter. I´d rather want to be in Asia, but I´m not sure how far I will get with that budget.

Any help is much appreciated!

I suggest you look at Sri Lanka the camps come within price range, flights from Germany. Hmmm will you have board or need one? Indonesia is not good as far clean water as it is the rainy season there but there is surf.
If Indo suits you then I suggest look around Kuta. Lombok or the Gerupuk area , some good easy beginner surfs.
For both Sri Lanka and Indonesia take anti malarial precautions (see your doctor) .
Ask more questions and read the other replies in this section.

The Canaries and Azores and Morrocco are easier Atlantic options as far as travel .

Get a nice pair of board shorts and stay clear of wild European parties!
