senegal at christmas time

Hi everyone!
I am thinking to go to Senegal for xmas time. I am doing some research here in the forum and from other sources, but wanted also to hear directly from who's actually been there. I dont know if Senegal suits my level and my objectives.
I am a beginner/intermediate, I can catch waves, but I dont practice enough as I live far from the sea..therefore I dont progress easily.
I am lookin for mellow waves to practice basic manouvres and - possibly - not too crowded enviroment or too competitive/aggressive line up.
I have been to Morocco for christmas time and i had fun, but I think that it's not the best choice for that time of the yeat.
It gets kinda too big for me, so the spots that are accessible (to my ability) are super packed. Vibes are ok, but it s really crowded and it's hard to catch many waves and practice take off and manouvres.
That s why this year I was thinking to go somewhere else..
Thank you very much in advance.
