Recommended: Ericeira, Portugal in November

Just came back from a couple of days in Ericeira. Wow. 25 degrees celsius, sunny, water warmer than on my last visit (which was in July a few years back). Waves were good, mostly too big and messy for me at the usual beginner spots of Foz do Lizandro etc, but great conditions on Fisherman's Beach right in the city centre early in the morning and the afternoon (spot works best on low tide, when there are some really nice lefts to be had). Nice, clean 4-5 footers starting right outside the big rock close to the jetty and running all the way across the little bay and some fun, smaller waves on the inside.
I stayed at the Vila Gale Hotel, which has a nice view of the Praia do Sul (which is also surfable on low tide, mostly on the days where it's big everywhere else) and is pretty reasonable and is within walking distance of the town square, Fisherman's and Furnas as well.
Can highly recommend Na Onda surf school for anyone interested in going and wanting some instruction and tips on where to go and when, Tobi and Alvaro are super nice and competent, and the price was ok, too. (50 Euros for two hour + private lesson including board rental with pick up and drop off).
Definitely doing this again next year.
