The Canarie or Morocco last week of feb.

Hi there,

I'm planning a surf trip from the 26th of February till the 6th of March. We are with about ten persons. The level of surfing is beginner up to surf instructor. Also a family is joining with a ten year old who resently learned the basics in Peniche Portugal.

We are thinking of the Canaries or Morocco (Agadir area) Any tips or suggestions?

Plenty of swell in both but the canaries gets windy as hell and you can get skunked by 40mph onshores for a week solid.

Although of course the nature of an island means there is always somewhere offshore but surfing in relentless wind can be a real pain in the ass. Take it from me, I surf in ireland.

Morocco on the other hand is usually very light winds at that time of year. Canaries may be more party orientated compared to morocco which has no bars for obvious reasons but i like that as i go there solely to surf.
