Oahu or Maui mid Novemeber

I've visited Kauai and Maui, never Oahu...

I was looking at either Maui or Oahu for a surf trip. How are crowds and conditions on average mid November? I'm a respectful Intermediate surfer.

I booked a trip to Oahu and will have 8 full days to spend, Nov 11-18 ... Any suggestions?

My priority is to surf, explore, hike, and eat good food with an emphasis on surfing as I hope to be in the water every day...

I'll be renting an SUV and mostly camping my way around the island... Do you have some suggestions and tentative itineraries? I'm interested in avoiding heavily crowded areas.
