France Trip Spring Break

Postby surfbus » Wed Apr 01, 2015 9:27 pm

Hi everyone,

Intermediate surfer here of the last 4 years from Seattle.

I'm currently studying abroad in Gothenburg, Sweden for grad school and found a cheap flight from my city to France. I will arrive in Paris (Beauvais) airport on April 7that noon and depart back for classes on April 14th in the morning.

What is the the cheapest and closest surf hostel located to this airport? I need one that would rent me a wetty/8'3 board and lodge stay for the week? I don't need any lessons but I think maybe surf schools would be walking distance to the beach. Just looking to surf, no shopping or other entertainment needed. If there are any trusted forum members in the area that could help with lodging that would be great!

I was hoping to keep costs as low as possible being a student with a job. I'm basically living off my savings at the moment. I was doing some research and it seems many surf shops are in the South. But I was thinking maybe to stick up North near Brittany Coast to keep travel costs down.

I have no idea mate but you do know that Paris is inland quite a distance don't you? You're talking around 5 or 6 hours to the coast of Brittany and I don't really think they get great swell in the channel, I could be wrong but why don't you google surf schools in Brittany as that's your nearest coastline..

Or you could SUP down the seine
