Hi,

I'm Jacob from Austria, I'm 23 year
I have a question, I finish my studies in October nd I'd like to go somewhere to learn to surf. I've never surfed. Looking for a place where life is cheap, they are great people, and where I can learn to surf. I want to live in a place like this for about a year. I'm an instructor of skiing and snowboarding. So maybe I'll learn.
What I need to know?

Do u know this spots?

Hi Jacob , I see you have an idea about the Philippines - Siargao - Cloud 9, for most levels of surfers it would be a black diamond run ( to match skiing levels) there are other breaks around and surf schools and resorts none (are cheap). It is about as different from Vienna as you can get so that part is good.
You could look at Indonesia, the island of Lombok, Grupuk area, October is still getting good swell and you can find cheap accommodation there. Home stays.
Surf there is great for learning but not just a dabble , if you progress well you can get out to better waves easily and nearby.

Hi Jacob , I'm a little confused about your last post a bungalow where? In Siargao or one of the other spots I mentioned? When i am looking to travel I usually google rather than facebook , gives me more options to think about. Then I read reviews of the places and that helps more.
If I cannot get a good idea about a place I book a short time at a camp or hotel and look around for cheap homestay options while I am there.
Three words apply here, respectful, sensible and safe, build a good relationship with a family as member of a family you would like to go back to. :D
