hawaii summer surf

im planning a trip to hawaii during the summer but ive heard theres next to no urf during the summer, and when there is its messy. can anyone confirm? or more helpfully deny?

That information probably came from someone who surfs on the north shore. The south shore (Waikiki, Ala Moana, Diamond Head) is famous for being larger during the summer. The south doesn't get as large as the north in winter time but thats your best bet for surf in the summer. I'm assuming that you are going to O'ahu. Compared to a lot of places around the world, I don't think Hawaii surf is that messy. Depends on which break you go to and the conditions on any day. South shore waves are fun. Dont worry, surf will be fine and at least you'll be lucky enough to visit paradise. Aloha!
