Where to go, 3 weeks 12th Marth -> 3nd April

Hey Guys,

I want to go away somewhere for the above dates, my max budget is about £500 PP (theres two of us) for flights, I plan on using AIRBNB for accomodations, I dont want anything to heavy (4ft - 6ft) but maybe with the option of a starter reef thats not to shallow within reasonable distance, Ive not surfed since july last year, I have not been excercising and not in any good shape, that being said as you all know I am a determined person so wont let that get in my way of getting some action.

I dont mind a wet suit although I would prefer shorties or boardshorts.

Because of the short notice, I wouldnt have time for vacinations.

So far I have the list down to:

South France (although ideally to cold)
Lisbon Area
Maldives (yes there is flights for < £500 pp and accomodation is cheap on airbnb)
Morocco - althought I hear its very rocky with some heavy waves.
Costa Rica - Not sure on current conditions or best places thou

My ideal location is OZ again, while I can afford flights and accomodation I doubt I could afford the general living costs, for just 3 weeks it feels like a long way to go.

EDIT: One thing to add, I just plan on renting a place or room for me and the missus close to the beach, eating really really well, catching up on sleep and surfing as much as a I can

Morocco is cheap, waves are good with all sorts of breaks. Reefs, points, beaches. Mostly rights. Check out Taghazout, fly into Agadir.

I would much prefer some lefts if I am honest!, All I had in OZ was rights and it got boring wiping out all the time

On a plus note, I am currently sweet talking to missus to a years working holiday in OZ.

Bali is cheap and there is no shortage of lefts. People are great too.

haha I would say Portugal.

Flights are around £80-150 return depending on time.

Which leaves you say £400 x 2 person £800 / 20 nights = £40 per night.

I haven't surf since New year and I'm now growing a beer belly.

But if you find anything nicer, please do let me know as I'm planning to go somewhere during that time too.

Portugal is looking about the best bet bang for buck, if you have not surfed since new year and have a gut you would hate to see the state of me atm having not surfed since last spring!

I semi talked the missus into a working holiday in Australia, past couple of months have been good and we have some money saved

Portugal is great, but the water is pretty chilly in March. It's doable in a 3/2 but 4/3 is what I'd take for the Lisbon area.
