Surfing Waves

Hey I'm trying to go on a surf trip to central or south america around april. Have any of you been to Nuqui, Colombia? What are some good/cheap locations, and how would the waves be during april? Is it extra to travel with your board, how do you make sure it is not damaged during the whole traveling process?

Im not sure about any locations in Colombia. But if you look on the "Features - Packing tips" on this website, has some great advice how to pack your gear and keep it reletivly protected.
