Hi nils, welcome to Surfing Waves,

There is some info to get started on the Surfing Madeira page on the main site.

i surfed between Paul do Mar and Funchal, it's all great beaches to surf, specially Jardim do Mar (Sea Garden)

the island is small, depends on the time you have, but you can choose to travel north or south from Funchal.
North -> Funchal - Machico - Porto da Cruz - faial - Santana - ... - Porto Moniz
or South -> Funchal - Ponta do Sol - Jardim do Mar - ... - Paul do Mar

you can make this in 4-5 days or less

north or south dude, keep traveling aroung the litoral and you'll find a spot just for your and your girl.
