Hello

I am travelling to Portugal in August and im going to surf at Peniche.
I almost completely new to surfing, and have only tried it 1 time when i was in Indonesia in Java, 2 years ago.
I tried in pretty big waves (2 meter) and 1 week of which i surfed, i would say i got the hang of it in the end.

So i need to know good places for beginners/intermediate surfers at peniche. Im going to stay there for 2 weeks so i also want to be somewhere i can progress and where the waves are not too small.
I ski and snowboard alot so i think i will get the hang of surfing pretty fast.

Thanks for the help

Hello!
Why not Cascais, Ericeira and Peniche? In this way you have the chance to surf in different spots and get to know more towns. This is a surf experience more complete than stay all the time at the some place. Check more information's at our website www.ride351.com or send us a email to surftripsportugal@ride351.com.

All the best and good waves!

I just got back from Peniche.

There are two towns basically, Penich and Balela, 5kms apart. Between the two towns you have a Bay. In the summertime, you will most probably surf the Bay.

If you are able to catch your own waves and don't need instruction, I would suggest you rent out your wetsuit and surfboard from 58 Surf, which is a 2 minute walk from a good spot in the Bay. find an apartment to stay in Baleal and do your surfing there. If you need instruction, there's Baelal Surf Camp right on the bay, you can sign up for lessons online with them.
