Hello!

I'm taking a trip to Laguna Beach, CA on June 16th - June 20th this year, and I'm wondering if someone can give me locations of the best surfing spots there. I'm relatively new to surfing and I don't know what time of day/location there will be the best spot. If anyone can help me with this please reply ASAP! Want to plan things out before the trip! Thanks

I am no expert but I live in the area. Do you shortboard or longboard?

Laguna doesn't necessarily have the best setups. your better off heading down south a little ways to Salt Creek, San Clemente, or up north to Newport or Huntington.

If you must stay in Laguna, Brook ST. is a reef that is fun sometimes, only a left - sometimes lots of grumpy old dudes. Thalia ST. on a low but not too low tide can be fun, both rights and lefts over a pretty shallow reef, lots of groms surf here. The best setup is also the most fickle and dangerous which is Rockpiles just north of main beach.

Like i said, at least drive the 10 minutes south to Salt Creek which picks up any swell, is mostly sheltered from wind, and has a couple different setups all of which are a good qulaity wave.

Hope that helps/.
