Suggestions for a beginner in july.

Hey!

I'm planing a surfing trip in the begining of July for a week and have no real idea where to go.
I am currently living in Sweden and looking for something not too far away.

Because i am a beginner to the subject i have no equipment so would be nice if you could rent it or buy it cheap there.
Don't wanna travel to expensive cause i am leaving for australia later.
And lessons is probably needed from what i have heard
Would be nice with some kinda nightlife if thats possible but not necessary.

If you have any advice or ideas where would be a good place to surf for me i would really appreciate it!

Come to England, Cornwal.

Great begginer waves, loads of places to buy/rent stuff, surf schools on nearly all the surfing beaches and Newquay has a fairly decent nightlife.

I second west England, while a report may read 2 - 4ft at 10s its more like 2ft @ 8s due to the continental shelf draining power from the waves.

Just got back from a weekend down there and was left feeling robbed if im honest, no shape or power to the waves perfect for a beginner

In a weeks time I'll be back to Cambridge and probably be in Cromer the following weekend.

How cold was the water? 3/2 enough?

San Sebastian is the best place to go!! Near too many other surfing places and for their gastronomy

Hey again!

Just wanna start with a big thanks for everyone that have taken the time to give me advice.
I have been lookin up the different locations and i have to say that San Sebastian seems most tempting.
Just curious how you would do if you went on a trip there. Is it best to book classes/room/equiptment before or can you fix that when u get there?
And for the people that have been there do you have any suggestions a good place to stay and surf schools you recommend?.

@BaNZ - Na I was surfing Woolacombe, Devon mate, 3/2 is MORE then enough tbh, I was down there in a 5/4 and I was toasty and in the water for 4 hours, I was going to get a 3/2 but wanted to get something for winter as well.

Let me know if the surfs up in Cromer bro, Ill drive up and come and carve some waves up with you for sure

Cromer is my local break. It's great down there, just really mushy most of the time and you're left surfing chop! Still waiting for the chance to surf through the pier!

Didn't know it was popular, I've nver been surfing when anyone bar locals were!

Where abouts in Cromer do you guys surf? Like stone groyne or more East Runton way?
