Surf camp/ school dec/nov

Hi chaps,

I've got a weeks holiday I need to use between now and Xmas. The mrs can't take any time of work so looks like I'm in luck for a surf trip.

As I'm not very good I have been thinking about a surf camp/school. Have a load of lessons and get a full weeks surfing in somewhere warm. I've been looking at carve in morocco as a starting point so I have an idea on prices and flights.

Budget is around £800 for the week. Would like to be out of a witty but realistic that as I'm not going to Bali or long haul flight it'll be a thin wetsuit at best.

So if anybody has any recommendations, ideas pointers etc etc. please shout in

Cheers.

Dan

Hi,

Moroccco, the area around Anchor Point (village is called Taghazout) has great waves starting late Nov-April, mostly right hand point breaks. Plenty of surf school down there. Or fly down to Agadir, get a bus to Taghazout, find cheap accommodation and a surf school/insructor locally.
Alternatively it's also the season for the Canary Islands, only been to Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, both have good surf and surf schools on masse. I prefer Morrocco though, the waves are better and less crowded than the Canaries.
You could also try Portugal around Ericeira.
Good luck.

Hi Dude,

Went for Taghazout. Been to Canaries for the last 2 years and didn't fancy Ericeira as its a bit colder than Morocco.

Thanks for pointers.
