Hi guys,

I just wondered if the above exists? There is obviously the essentials, board, fins, rashie.

Would be interested in hearing from people who have been abroad and forgotten particular items.

I have been to most corners of the world and the best advice I can give you (depending on your remote you are actually going) is a top first aid kit (sounds simple bit it's not for surfers - mine has got $300 worth of stuff in it and I have used every single thing at one point in time), you won't believe how many guys travel with just bandaids an some betadine and expect to find antibiotics, antihistamine, malaria pills, painkillers and the like locally in third world countries and remote locations. Also everything spare - fins, leashes, ding repair kit, fin plugs etc. And an electronic copy of everything somewhere (plus paper ones) - passport, important phone numbers in case of emergency. And the best travel insurance money can buy. You learn to add as you go along. Some places (Bali), you can buy everything, others (Easter Island, remote Indo/Papua/Pacific Islands/Africa) you can't buy much at all. Enjoy!

Here's one I learned from experience, not a thing to take, but a thing to do...

Check the condition of your boards before you leave baggage re-claim at your destination.
If the airline has destroyed your board, you'll have a hard enough time trying to get money out of them anyway, but if you've left the airport, got on a bus, got on a boat, gone to the surfcamp... then you've got no chance

If you want to be really neurotic about it, take a photo of your undamaged board at the airport with a copy of your ticket. And check the claims policy for your airline before you book.

I do agree with you. When you’re heading off around the world getting organised can be pretty daunting. Above tips are helpful to make your trip the best ever. If you participate in any activity like surfing; you should visit THE WEBSITE WHICH I AM RELENTLESSLY SPAMMING AND DBBB IS RELENTLESSLY EDITING IN EVERY POST . You must do some research before you go.

It just mite sound silly but there are places that will be (very) hard to find wax...this is out of painful experience
