Im a spaniard from Barcelona living in the Bay Area of S Francisco.

you write a killer little blog! I used to live in NorCAL and learned to surf there. Now I live in SoCAL. I am familiar with the places you have written about. You also have killer video from Ft. Point!

Tell you two facts that came to mind when watching your Ft. Point video.
1. In 1950, a freight ship (freighter) hit a hospital ship anchored about 4 miles outside the SF Bay bridge. 18 dead. 489 hospitalized in various terra firma hospitals around the Bay.
2. In 2002, 3 surfers nearly killed another surfer at Ft. Point. It was a case of local aggression.
3. In 2007, a freighter hit the Bay Bridge (not Golden Gate), dropped some containers into the water, and leaked fuel

I have seen lots of still shots, but have never seen an actual video of people surfing Ft Point. It looks like it can get really fun out there. Thanks for sharing. I have never surfed there, but have wondered about it from the pictures I have seen.
billie_morini...Thanks for the history! Sorry to hear about 3 surfers nearly killing another surfer out there in 2002. That is sad!
