Hi:)
I am looking for spot for very beginners:) somewhere in TX. I have no idea if it is good place to learn or if it is good place to surf at all so if you have any information please share with me:)
I am going to be in Houston on the end of April but I prefer to find something now cause I don't know how it works in US. In other places are surf camps for adults but in TX i found only for kids.
I hope April/May is good time to surf in golf of Mexico:)
I will be gratefull for any suggestions,
aayaka
PS. sorry for any mistakes, I don't speak english well:)

aayaka,
There is no reason to apologize about your English skills. They are better than you think and better than many natives.
OK, so you are going to Houston. I hope you will enjoy the cooking there. You can easily get Cajun and some Creole cooking, lots of smoked beef and pork, and seafood. I usually eat lots of spicy crawfish at the many Cajun restaurants.
As far as surfing, it is pretty tame in the Gulf Coast. That is why many surf camps cater to children. However, there are some surfing breaks near Houston. Look up a surf camp called Texas Surf Camp. While they cater to teenagers, they will accommodate adults. Depending on several factors, they offer camps at Galveston and Corpus Christi. These locations are not far from Houston. The best month is October, but you said you'd be there in April or May.
If you decide to rent a board and find surf on your own, here the surf breaks from north to south. It's usually better at Corpus Christi than Galveston.
Galveston: Mecom's, Crystal Cove, A-Frames, Flagship, Old Surfside Pier, Galveston 37th Street, Galveston 61st Street, West Galveston, Assholes, Boilers, Octogon, Quitanas, Matagorda
Corpus Christi: Shell Banks, Port Masfield Jetty, Pat O'Connor Jetty, San Jose Island, Port Aransas, Fishpass Jetties, Mustang Island, Bob Hall Pier, Condos, JP Luby Pier, The Cove, South Padre Island, Boca Chica
If there is no surfing, then go fishing on a charter boat. Gulf fishing is very good. Another option, go wind or kite surfing. There is plenty of that.

WoW did they name a jetty after Pat O'Connor the shortboarder in Endless Summer 2?
Short answer and self edit , Nope that was Pat O'Connell but then all Irish descendants look the same
And make mistakes like this

If you are in Houston, then the closest surf spots are Galveston and Surfside Beach (near Freeport). Each is about an hour from Houston. Each has shops where you can rent a board.
Surf in Texas can be OK in April / May but it is very inconsistent. The prevailing winds are from the SE, which causes choppy surf. Offshore winds (N-NW) are fairly rare. So you are looking for days with: (1) decent-sized waves (at least 2 feet, 3 or 4 is better) at a period of 6 seconds or higher; and (2) either light winds or NW winds. So you need to watch the forecasts and choose the right time.
Both Galveston and Surfside are relatively beginner friendly spots unless the surf is really big. However, the choppier it gets, the harder the waves are to catch.
Good luck.

Yeah, pretty sure Billie meant the
Port O'Connor jetty.
