Hi everyone, I'm Dave (new on this forum), from Montreal, and I was looking for a cool surfing spot in Peru or any nice spot acutally... Where I could surf pretty big waves! Not too big but I prefer the big waves to the baby ones still. And also, I wanted to work over there and stay for 2-3 months, like find a job (if you know any website/information about this, or even if I would need a visa) because I would like to stay there for the whole summer maybe, so I would have to work.

The best for me would be to have a host and to work over there... And to have a surfing spot very close to where I live with pretty big waves! That's all I'm looking for! So if you can help me anyhow e-mail me back! (I don't know where to inform myself actually other than here)

Thanks a lot!
Dave

Hi, from Montreal , a good thing to would be to post a little pocket sort of resume!
How well do you surf and your experience, that would give you a field of potential breaks to consider .
There are a few Peruvian posters on site have ai browse and PM them!

Hi dave19trot, welcome to Surfing Waves.
perusurf is a regular on the forum, perhaps he could offer some info if he's around.

Dave,

I don't know if you have already gone, but you should be able to stay in Peru up to 90 days using just your passport...basically a Tourist Visa. You may not work legally though. To work there, you need a Work Visa. You may need a sponsor there to obtain one. I traveled there with my tourist visa, then had a sponsor change it to a work visa while I was there. And you may want to check out my previous post regarding the surf in Peru.

Let me know if you need help with anything else...

Jon

Hi Dave,
most likely you'll get a 90 day visa when you get here, if you ask for 6 months and say you just want to travel around for a long time in Peru, they'll give it to you, i know of several people tht have, you may not be able to work legally but could find something temporary, summer is from january to march, high season, might be able to find a job around, we take people in in exchange of lodging and meals for basic help around the house leaving plenty of time to surf.
Pnta Hermosa is known for its many waves and for its consistency, waves everyday, all different from small to big to huge waves! beachbreaks, long pointbreaks, left and rights.
your summer is our winter, more and bigger waves in winter but really not much going on but surf, could be difficult to find a job, if interested in the exchange or if any other questions let me know.
