Hi Guys,

Might be a long stretch but I recently moved to Kent and heard there were waves here.

I am in Canterbury at the moment but I heard maybe Herne Bay or somewhere in the vicinity are waves?

I haven't surfed in months so I will take anything at this point haha thanks for the tips in advance.

Josh

You're in about the most fickle surf spot on the planet, but it can just about be done
Winter is the best time, as you need a big winter swell to get all the way up the channel or down from the north sea (depending on where you're surfing) for it to work at all.

You're new "local" is Joss Bay (near Broadstairs). There's also the odd spot around some of the harbours and marinas too.

Relatively close by, and slightly less fickle spots, are brighton and wittering in sussex.

Haha great, i was travelling back to Bristol to grab some stuff from storage and i was wondering if its worth bringing my wetsuit.

Will it be worth grabbing my 5,10 performance board (only board) or rent one/ buy one cheap down here? Any type suggestions?

Brighton's 2 hours drive from us i think.... Only for big swells me thinks but thanks hopefully there are at least weekly waves 'round here!
