actually hawaii is a great place to go for surf, i've lived there for almost 5 years and have seen the best and worst, you can get an unlucky trip and its flat but most of the time in the right places you can score sic waves!

In february most of the actions will be on the north and west shores! Incredible waves but mostly crowdy!
Try to go to Mokuleia park. Just on your left there is a break called Daystar and it's normally not as crowdy but excellent waves! If you stay longer the south shore will start pounding. Try some not as famous but excellent spots like between diamond head and the aquarium in waikiki. Just around the outrigger club there are a few great spots. Also try Toes and Snipers located just before Hawaii Kai district!
Better informed just get an `informative and cheap 'surf spots in hawaii' style of book you will not regret it! There are countless of surf spots there! And I am HERE! Hahhah! See ya!
