Surfing in the Netherlands (Amsterdam area)

Hi everyone, my job is currently taking me to Amsterdam every so often and I'm wondering if there are any recommendations for surf spots that would be easy to get to from the Schiphol area by taxi? Also, are there any surf shops near any of the choice areas? If nothing else, I would be happy just to try my first "international" spot since the opportunity may present itself.

If there are spots, what time of year and conditions can I expect?

Hey Bomber35

By taxi will cost you a lot, there are several surfspots which are accesible by train like
Zandvoort aan zee (if come out of the stationbuilding you walk straight on and you will see stairs and a sort of hill for wheelchairs etc. walk up that hill and look to your left there is Van Den Berg surfshop, Wijk aan zee (??), Noordwijk/Katwijk aan zee (not sure but along the coast there are different surfshops), but you can expect very cold water (like 8 degrees or colder) and every day the waves are different, you can e.g. have on monday very nice waves and tuesday it is all f*cked up
You just got to travel around and see where it is good.

Have fun and good luck
